This script will convert a regular *CONSTRAINED_NODAL_RIGID_BODY to a Spherical NRB PRIMER connection.

All the user needs to do is select the NRB’s they wish to convert and choose from one of the two options:

• Auto Diameter – this will set the diameter of the PRIMER conx so that it is large enough to capture all of the nodes in the original NRB (it may result in more being captured). If multiple NRB’s are being converted each will have a unique diameter calculated.
• Fixed Diameter – with this option the user enters a fixed diameter which is used for all of the NRB’s being converted.

The reason for converting a regular NRB to a the PRIMER Conx form is that it allows you to easily switch from a single NRB to more sophisticated connection types such as discrete beams, joints or spotwelds, using the Connection table. It also enhances the functionality provided by tools such as Part replace.

Notes:

Tool will delete old NRB and old node set.

New NRB and node sets are created via PRIMER’s connection manager and may have different contents depending on the diameter used.

New NRB and node sets will almost definitely have different labels.

New connections and associated FE will be located in the same include file as the original NRB (honouring any include file number ranges).
