Modelling FRP composites in LS-DYNA: Part 2 – Delaminations
This webinar will explore the analysis possibilities for simulating interlaminar debonding (delamination) in LS-DYNA, a major failure mechanism in laminated FRP composites. Two common modelling techniques using cohesive zone elements and tiebreak contacts, based on established fracture-mechanics concepts, will be presented to simulate crack initiation and propagation.
A live demo using the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment will be presented along with a live Q&A session.
Pre-requisite: It is recommended, although not essential, that attendees visit Part 1 of this composite series which covers the essential pre- and post-processing composite analysis features and capabilities using the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment.
