Andrew Cunningham

Andrew is an Associate Director in Arup’s Advanced Digital Engineering group. He has over 25 years of engineering experience, using advanced analysis to achieve complex designs. He has significant expertise in vibration, dynamic, linear and non-linear analysis and has been using the Oasys LS-DYNA software throughout his career. Andrew is a leading expert in the design of railway vibration isolation, particularly floating track slab.

Hosted by Ansys, this webinar featured Arup’s Andrew Cunningham on how LS-DYNA is used for predicting the vibration caused by trains. It included examples of both structural and acoustic vibrations and the associated transfer of these to train passengers and to buildings near the track.
