Workshops:

Workshop 1: Streamlining the Automotive CAE Workflow with Oasys Software

Wednesday 18th October 14:00 – 16:05

In this workshop, we will explore how the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment software can help users streamline their entire Automotive CAE workflow. We will discuss the software’s capabilities for setting up crash tests, including the Crash Test Setup tool, which is designed to work with different test regulations and allows for customizing crash tests and running in batch mode. We will also cover how to use the integrated Automotive Assessments Workflow and post-processing tool REPORTER for quick and efficient results analysis and reporting.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment software and its capabilities for setting up crash tests, with examples of common automotive crash tests regulations such as Euro NCAP and IIHS
  • Best practice for using the Crash Test Setup tool, including customizing crash tests and running in batch mode
  • Methods for quick and efficient occupant injury and structural assessments using the Automotive Assessments Workflow
  • How to use REPORTER for time-saving automated reporting, including the use of templates for different safety protocols
  • If time allows, we will also cover other tools in the Oasys software that make the simulation workflow smooth and easy.

Workshop 2: Model Quality – getting your model ‘right’

Thursday 19th October 08:30 – 10:35

To be able to capture more and more detail in an analysis, LS-DYNA models continue to increase in size and complexity. A model can now commonly have ten to twenty million elements and it is essential that checking procedures are used to ensure that the model is ‘right’. As element count increases, checking an LS-DYNA model can be a difficult process as many of the checks can be very complex. Having robust methods for checking a keyword deck both interactively and as part of any automatic process is therefore essential for quality models and correct results. Ultimately, this will also give significant time savings.

This workshop will describe the various checking methods, tips, tricks, and best practices to help you check and interrogate your LS-DYNA models, pre- and post-submission, using functionality in the Oasys LS-DYNA environment.
