LS-OPT

An optimisation tool developed by Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC) and included free of charge with Ansys LS-DYNA.

LS-OPT can be linked to any simulation software

Allowing you to structure the design process, explore the design space and compute optimal designs according to specified constraints and objectives.

The user interface works particularly well with Ansys LS-DYNA

Providing a simple and easy way to specify optimisation inputs, monitor and control parallel simulations and post-process optimisation data.

Optimisation

Optimisation that is multidisciplinary, multi-objective, mixed discrete-continuous, shape, reality based and robust design. As well as allowing the calibration of models to experimental data, the successive response surface method and the genetic optimisation algorithm.

Stochastic analysis

Stochastic analysis that includes Direct Monte Carlo investigations, standard and user-defined distribution functions, reliability studies and the improvement of numerical efficiency using meta models.

Other features

Other features include job distribution, queuing system interfaces, graphical results visualisation and 3D visualisation of meta models.
